Manager, Community Teaching Kitchen
Providence Health & Services
Heidi Davis is the Manager of Providence Health & Services’ Community Teaching Kitchen in Portland, OR, and thrives on inspiring hope and healing through mission centered leadership while building sustainable communities with access to nutritious food. Heidi began her career at Providence to implement a screen and intervene program that would identify and respond to patients facing food insecurity. Since 2016, she has worked to develop a comprehensive, hospital-based teaching kitchen model that nourishes wellness through its food pharmacy, culinary medicine, and Rx gardening programs. Her commitment to compassion, dignity, and excellence motivates her to offer creativity and authenticity in all her pursuits including the promotion of social services integration to improve nutrition related chronic conditions. Heidi completed her master’s in social work at Portland State University in 2014. Her research interests include the intersection of unmet social needs, social drivers of health, and equitable healthcare as well as evaluating the critical link between food insecurity and patient outcomes.
